Dear Neighbor,

My name is Nick Mattiacci and I am a candidate for State Representative in our area. I just wanted to take a minute or two of your time to tell you a little bit about myself and why I am seeking to represent you in Harrisburg.

I was raised right here in the Rydal section of Abington. I’m the fourth of five children born to my father, John, a podiatrist, and my mother, Maureen, a secretary. I attended grade school at Immaculate Conception B.V.M. and LaSalle College High School. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice at Temple University. After graduating from Temple, I earned a law degree at Widener University School of Law. I have been a practicing attorney for five years, specializing in defending personal injury lawsuits.

During my freshman year at Temple, I met my beautiful wife, Amanda, and we have been together ever since. We are the proud parents of two wonderful little boys, Luca, age 2, and Nicky, who will have his first birthday in April. And, we have two big English bulldogs named Dumpster and Butch. For the past five years, we have lived in the McKinley section of Abington.

I truly believe that Abington and Upper Dublin are two of the finest communities anywhere. We are truly blessed to be able to call this area “home.” I was fortunate enough to be raised here, and I’m fortunate enough to be able to raise my children here. We really do have it all: a dynamic business climate, world class hospitals, blue ribbon schools, convenient public transportation, and some of the most diverse and hardworking people that you will ever find.

It is my hope and my goal as a State Representative to preserve the great character of our community, and to build on what we have so that future generations will not only have the same opportunities that we have had, but have better opportunities.

10/31/12 - A Letter from Amanda Mattiacci

Growing up in Northeast Philadelphia, conversation consisted of talking about kids, weather and community at large. Religion and Politics were topics of conversation that were avoided at almost all costs. However, on this occasion I feel it necessary to at least bring up politics with less than a week to go in this monumental election.

The recent weather is going to make it difficult for my husband, Nick Mattiacci come to your door so I decided to help bring his message to your mailbox. When Nick and I decided to get married and start a family I knew we could find our definition of the American Dream right here in Abington, the community Nick grew up in.

This truly is the community of my dreams. A community that is diverse, hard working and where people still hold the door open for one another. We are blessed to be raising our young family here and look forward to sending them to our blue ribbon school system. Politics is not my area of expertise. Pundits speak about polls and position papers but rarely mention people. After the polls close on Election Day I hope we don’t send a politician to Harrisburg instead I hope we send a person like my husband.

I know a State Representative serves the community he represents and there is no one I know who is better with people then Nick. Nick is passionate, caring and truly enjoys being around people, he is hard working and I know because I have seen it day in and day out, that he will always put the needs of this community above his own.
